Privacy Policy

Gorkha Ride Parcel is a product of Gorkha Ride Pvt. Ltd. ("Gorkha Ride", "we", "our", or "us"). We operate the Gorkha Ride Parcel platform, which includes the Gorkha Parcel Merchant app, the Gorkha Parcel Rider app, the Gorkha Parcel Hub app, and the website at https://parcel.gorkharide.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

  • Account information: name, business or shop name, email address, mobile number, address, and password (stored in hashed form) that you provide when you register or when an administrator creates your account.
  • Parcel and transaction data: sender and recipient names, phone numbers and addresses, parcel details, tracking history, cash-on-delivery amounts, invoices, and payment account details you provide for settlements.
  • Location data (Rider app): while the Rider app is open, it reads your device's precise location to show delivery and pickup routes and to share live parcel location with our servers. The app does not collect location when it is closed or running in the background.
  • Camera and photos: the Rider app can use the camera or your photo library to attach proof-of-delivery images and signatures. The Hub app uses the camera to scan parcel barcodes. Images are used only for these purposes.
  • Device information: a device token used to deliver push notifications, and basic technical data needed to keep the service working.
  • Addresses you search for (Merchant app): when you search for or pick an address on a map, the text you enter is sent to Google Maps services.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and manage accounts and verify your identity, including by SMS one-time passcode.
  • To book, pick up, transfer, deliver, and return parcels, and to let senders and recipients track them.
  • To send push notifications and SMS about parcel status.
  • To calculate delivery charges, collect cash on delivery, generate invoices, and settle payments.
  • To provide customer support, prevent fraud and misuse, and improve the service.

3. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run the service:

  • Delivery staff and hubs assigned to a parcel see the recipient name, phone number, and delivery address for that parcel.
  • Service providers: Google Firebase (push notifications), Google Maps (maps and address search), our SMS provider (one-time passcodes and alerts), and payment processors used for settlement and online payments.
  • Legal and safety: when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of our users and the public.

4. Data Security

Data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are stored hashed, and access to the apps and API requires authentication. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Retention

We keep account and parcel records while your account is active and for as long as needed for delivery, accounting, dispute resolution, and legal obligations. Location data used for live tracking is kept only as long as needed for delivery and operational records.

6. Your Choices and Rights

  • You can access and correct your account details in the app or by contacting us.
  • You can turn off notifications, camera, and location permissions in your device settings. Some features will stop working without them.

7. Account and Data Deletion

You can ask us to delete your account and the personal data associated with it by emailing support@gorkharide.com from the email address or phone number on the account, with the subject "Delete my account". We will verify the request and process it within a reasonable period, generally within 30 days. We may keep limited records where the law requires it, for example invoices and payment records.

8. Children

Our services are intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date above shows when it was last changed. Continued use of the service after an update means you accept the updated policy.
